Pablo Picasso's Full Name
Picasso's name - Pablo Diego Jose Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Maria de los Remodios Cipriano de la Santisima Trinidad - honours various godparents, relatives and Saints. At the end of this string of names, came Ruiz and Picasso the first, as is Spanish custom, for his father's surname and the second for his mother's. As a young artist he signed himself either P. Ruiz or P. Ruiz Picasso ,, then he settled on just Picasso - because it was less common than Ruiz, and partly out of fondness for his mother. (25 October 1881 – 8 April 1973)
